The Turkish Culture Ministry spent 2,6 million liras in 2022 for a book of which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan wrote the foreword, according to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from the daily BirGün

The ministry printed 12,000 copies of the book titled “Turkish Cuisine with Centuries-old Recipes” under the Project for the Publication of Works of National Culture. The book’s number of editions surpassed all other works under the project.

The ministry launched the "Project for the Publication of National Cultural Works" in 1952 with the aim of “promoting Turkish culture, art and literature nationally and internationally.” In 2022, some 17 books were published under the project, yet the First Lady’s book received the lion's share.

The total amount of money that came out of the ministry's tenders for the printing and promotion of the book was calculated as 2.6 million Turkish liras.
