Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar visited Syrian border on Feb. 28, following a hectic night of events in the country's Idlib province. Akar and the top commanders also visited Hatay State Hospital to see the soldiers wounded in the attack.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar visited Syrian border on Feb. 28, following a hectic night of events in the country's Idlib province.
In his visit to the Tactical Command Center in the border province of Hatay, Akar was accompanied by Land Forces Commander Gen. Ümit Dündar and Air Forces Commander Gen. Hasan Küçükakyüz.
At least 33 Turkish soldiers were killed and dozens of others were wounded on Feb. 27 following an airstrike carried out by the Syrian army.
Akar and the top commanders also visited Hatay State Hospital to see the soldiers wounded in the attack.
While the initial number of those killed was nine, it rose to 33 in the following hours.
