Turkish main opposition files criminal complaint against Erdoğan’s advisor over scandalous tweet
The main opposition CHP’s southeastern Diyarbakır office has filed a criminal complaint against Erdoğan’s advisor Ayhan Ogan over his scandalous tweet declaring citizens who voted for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in eastern Turkey as “PKK members.”

The Diyarbakır provincial office of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) on May 24 filed a criminal complaint against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s advisor Ayhan Ogan over his comments deeming voters in eastern Turkey members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The petition filed by CHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chair Abdullah Atik said that Ogan had committed the crime of “instigating people into hatred and animosity and explicitly spreading deceptive information.”
The criminal complaint came a day after Ogan, in a scandalous tweet, declared millions of citizens in eastern Turkey who voted for CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the first round of the presidential elections as “PKK members.”
Atik said that Ogan “needs to be brought to book not just politically but also lawfully over this gravity.” After filing the criminal complaint, Atik made a statement in front of Diyarbakır Courthouse and said: “On one hand, montage videos (against CHP), on the other hand, these deceptive information shared from their (government officials’) personal accounts. It is not possible to accept these.”
