Turkish man arrested after killing US tourist in Istanbul

A man was arrested for killing a U.S. tourist in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district. Leonard Samuel Ray was taken to a hospital after getting stabbed, but succumbed to his injuries.

A man was arrested for killing U.S. tourist Leonard Samuel Ray in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, Demirören News Agency reported on Dec. 28. 

Ray arrived in Istanbul around 20 days ago and was walking on the street with his friends when a group approached them and pushed the tourist. The group then attacked and stabbed Ray as he tried to get away. 

The assailants left the scene on foot and Ray was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Police determined the identities of the assailants from security footage and detained Ferhat K., E.A., M.K.O. and T.D. Three of the suspects were released on condition of judicial control, while Ferhat K. was arrested for carrying out the knife attack.
