Turkish man caught while swimming to Greek island during his temporary release from prison

A Turkish man was caught in Antalya’s Kaş district while trying to flee to the Greek island of Kastellorizo by swimming. It came to light that he made this attempt during his temporary release from prison.

Turkish Coast Guard detained a man with the initials M.H.K while he was trying to flee to the Greek island of Kastellorizo by swimming during his temporary release from prison.

During their patrols off the coast of Antalya’s Kaş district, the Coast Guard realized that a person was trying to cross to Greece's Kastellorizo Island by swimming, Demirören News Agency reported on Aug. 14.

The teams detained the man off the coast of Başak Island. 

It came to light that the man made the attempt during his temporary release from prison.
