A Turkish man who found out that his wife was cheating on him on live TV has committed suicide in his home in the Aegean province of Uşak.

Serkan Kıyak, a father of one, appeared on a Turkish TV program that investigates family dramas after being unable to reach his wife Zehra.

During the live TV show, his wife said that she was cheating on him and that she left him, which caused Kıyak to have a nervous breakdown out of sadness.

"You cheated on me 4-5 times in the past and I forgave you. Come back, I'll forgive you again," he told Zehra.

The next day, Kıyak, who reportedly grew up in an orphanage, appeared on the show once again, telling host Müge Anlı that he is ready for new beginnings.

Following the news of his suicide, Anlı on Dec. 13 said that Kıyak tried to get back together with his wife once again after the program.

"I guess Serkan's sole purpose was to make his marriage continue. He was actually in high spirits when he left the show," Anlı said.
