Turkish miners pull 5-month-old baby alive from rubble 131 hours after quake
Turkish miners who are in the earthquake zone to help with rescue efforts, have pulled out a five-month-old baby alive from under the rubble in southern Hatay, 131 hours after a major earthquake struck the region.

Miners who have been helping with search-and-rescue efforts in the earthquake-stricken Hatay province’s Antakya district on Feb. 11 pulled a five-month-old baby alive from the rubble of a collapsed building.
The rescue operation came 131 hours after the earthquake hit the southeastern region on Feb. 6. The efforts to rescue the baby lasted for about two hours, according to reporting by the state-run Anadolu Agency.
A video showed one of the miners in a safety harness hanging upside down and carrying the baby through a narrow hole. As he was pulled up by his colleagues, another miner came to his help and got the baby.
The baby was later handed to health teams.
The miners, working for the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprises, came to the region from the Black Sea province of Zonguldak after the Feb. 6-dated earthquakes.
