Turkish photographer's Ankara subway photo featured on National Geographic platform

The National Geographic "Your Shot" platform has shared Turkish photographer Dilek Uyar's photo on its Instagram account. The photograph features a municipality worker disinfecting a subway station in the Turkish capital Ankara.

National Geographic's photo-sharing platform Your Shot has shared a photograph captured by Turkish photographer Dilek Uyar at an Ankara subway station.

The platform's Instagram page, which has 4 million followers, shared the photo with the following caption: “During the coronavirus pandemic, the health affairs unit is spraying all public transportation in Ankara, Turkey, day and night.”

Uyar is in fact a lawyer but has been taking pictures for 10 years now. She has won numerous prizes from prestigious organizations for her photographs.

During the coronavirus outbreak, she has photographed Ankara's streets and documented the municipality's disinfection works. Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş has even shared Uyar's photographs on his social media accounts.
