Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment into Berat Güdül who caused a scene during a Turkish Airline flight, and sought up to nine years in prison for him.

During an Istanbul-London flight on Sept. 14 before takeoff, Güdül caused a scene and started swearing at the cabin crew, claiming that his seat number had been changed. Güdül said that he had bought a ticket for 10,000 liras and the passenger next to him had bought a ticket for 4,000 liras.

Moreover, Güdül threatened the cabin crew by saying “I will get you fired, I have 10 factories.”

After he continued to argue with the crew members despite all warnings, the police came and detained him. “When he resisted, we handcuffed him,” the police officers said.

In his statement, Güdül said, “They changed my seat number 8 to 17. I had a catheter inserted in me before the incident, things developed due to this health problem.”

The cabin crew filed a complaint against Güdül for the incident. After the footage of the incident stirred social media, Turkish Airlines announced that they banned Güdül from taking further flights.

After the incident, an Istanbul court has arrested him.

Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment into Güdül for “resisting to prevent the execution of his duty” and “damaging public property,” demanding he be sentenced to up to nine years in prison.
