Turkish retailer's parking garage worker becomes board chairman

Turkish clothing retailer Koton promoted a parking garage employee to chairman of the board. The financially struggling company had closed down five Istanbul stores in February.

A Turkish clothing retailer's board chair was replaced by an employee who worked in the company's parking garage, Anka News Agency reported April 10.

With 472 stores, one third of which are abroad, retailer Koton's new board chairman Lütfü Döşkaya reportedly used to work in the Istanbul headquarter building's parking garage.

Koton had closed five stores in Istanbul in the month of February.

Having been struggling financially in recent days, Koton was sold to Nemo Apparel BV in 2012.
