Turkish shopkeeper says he was threatened after criticizing government-ally MHP
A shopkeeper in the southern province of Osmaniye has said that a mob threatened him at his shop after criticizing the government-ally Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the mayor of the province, from the MHP, on social media.

A shopkeeper in the southern province of Osmaniye has claimed a mob of 25-30 people threatened him at his shop after he criticized government-ally Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the mayor of the province on social media.
Sadık Bostan said a group of 25-30 people, including MHP provincial branch chair of Osmaniye, Yusuf Çomu, threatened him at his shop.
The incident allegedly occurred two-and-a-half months ago, according to reporting by ANKA news agency.
Çomu is reportedly heard in footage that emerged from the incident as saying that Bostan insulted the leader of the MHP, the provincial branch, and the mayor of the city, Kadir Kara.
Bostan said he was a supporter of the MHP, too, and that it was his “right” to criticize the party.
Bostan added that the group threatened to kill him.
Osmaniye is an MHP stronghold and has historically voted in mayors from the far-right party. The MHP leader, Devlet Bahçeli, is from Osmaniye.
