We'll wage war on China if necessary: Turkish ultranationalist party leader

Ultranationalist Great Unity Party (BBP) leader Mustafa Destici has said that Turkey may wage war on China if necessary when he was commenting on Beijing's persecution of Uyghurs.
"We are very vocal on this issue, both in parliament and in public. People ask whether a war will be waged on China. It can be done if necessary!" Destici said on Feb. 25.
"There is no country in the world that we're afraid of," he said, adding that there are things that should be done before waging a war.
"You can also launch a dialogue," Destici noted.
According to the far-right leader, a group of Uyghurs visited him last week and told him about the horrors that Uyghurs face in the camps.
The silence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and its ally Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) on Beijing's human rights abuses is being criticized by the opposition and the Uyghurs in the country.
Most recently, AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik on Feb. 23 said Turkey defends China's territorial integrity and "it's right to fight against terror."
"However, we are following the negative practices against the Uyghurs with great concern," he added.
