Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş shares his top artists of 2020, thanks playlist followers

Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş shared the top five artists he listened to the most in 2020, revealing his favorite to be Loreena McKennitt. The mayor also said that the thousands of followers of his studying playlist made him very happy.

The mayor of Ankara from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Mansur Yavaş, shared the musical artists he listened to the most in 2020, and thanked the followers of a playlist he created in a tweet on Dec. 2.

Sharing the summary prepared for him by music streaming service Spotify, Mayor Yavaş revealed that his top artist in 2020 was composer Loreena McKennitt, whose music is heavily influenced by Celtic and oriental tunes.

Legendary poet and songwriter Leonard Cohen was Yavaş' second most-heard artist in 2020, and British pop singer Adele ranked third.

French musician Geneviève Leclerc ranked fourth on Yavaş' list of top artists, while English rock band Passenger came in fifth.

The mayor also shared a screenshot from Spotify that said he had gained 30,278 followers on a playlist he created titled "Notes to success."

"I see that you took advantage of the playlist I made for you while studying for your classes. You've made me very happy," the mayor said in his tweet.

Yavaş also reminded his young constituents of his promise to get each of them interent to to make sure they don't fall behind on their education.
