Pharmacies in the western province of Edirne are filled with Bulgarians purchasing mainly paracetamols, pain killers and high blood pressure medication, Demirören News Agency reported on Dec. 15.
They have also been buying boxes of anti-flu medicine, pharmacists said, adding that they find the drugs way cheaper in Turkey compared to their home country.
"It's rush hour every day. We're experiencing a serious increase in the number of customers," pharmacist Hüseyin Badem said.
"Medicine is cheaper for them here. They tell us that high blood pressure and cholesterol medicine are expensive in Bulgaria," he said, noting that there are no problems with the supplies.
