HMS Defender (D36) of the Royal Navy arrived in Istanbul in the early hours of June 9 after crossing through the Dardanelles Strait on June 8.
The warship then set sail in the Marmara Sea and entered the Bosphorus Strait at around 8 a.m.
Turkish coast guard boats accompanied the warship.
Launched in December 2009, HMS Defender is the fifth of the Royal Navy’s six Type 45 destroyers.
