Turkey’s coronavirus outbreak to peak end of April, science committee member claims

Prof. Alpay Azap, a member of the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 Science Committee has said that the coronavirus outbreak in Turkey will peak around the end of April.

So far, the coronavirus followed the same course in all countries it has spread to, which indicates "we are to expect the same in Turkey," he added.

Azap also said that healthcare workers agree that the outbreak has yet to claim its highest number of cases in Turkey. There will be a point at which the number of new cases every day will decline.

While some 356 people have died from COVID-19 in Turkey as of April 2, the number of infected people has now surpassed 18,000.
