"The number of recovering patients has exceeded 120,000. The need for intensive care continues to decrease. The success reached is a result of harmony shown by 83 million people," Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on his Twitter account.

Turkey is currently under a four-day nationwide lockdown for the Eid al-Fitr holiday to curb the spread of the virus. The curfew came into effect across the country's 81 provinces at midnight on May 22, a day before Eid, which marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
