"The number of tests has increased by 1.6 times compared to yesterday. The increase in the new cases is at a predictable level. The number of our recovering patients is 290 more than yesterday. The future days depends on us abiding by the rules of [wearing] mask and [maintaining] social distance," Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.

Koca's remarks just minutes after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Turkey will lift restrictions on intercity travel and allow restaurants, cafes, parks and sports facilities to reopen from June 1.
Erdoğan said that restrictions would remain place on the movements of those aged over 65 and under 18.
