Daron Acemoğlu visits Turkey for first time after receiving Nobel prize
Daron Acemoğlu, winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics, visited his alma mater, Galatasaray High School, during his first visit to Turkey after receiving the award.

Daron Acemoğlu, who was awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics, on Nov. 5 made his first visit to Turkey since receiving the prize and stopped by Galatasaray High School, where he completed his high school education.
Acemoğlu was welcomed by his classmate and the current principal of Galatasaray High School, Mustafa Reşat Dabak.
Acemoğlu engaged in a conversation with senior year students about his academic journey and the Nobel Prize. Following this, he joined a study session with students in his former classroom, 12 Science/B.
In a nod to "The Narrow Corridor," the book he co-authored with James A. Robinson, Acemoğlu had his photo taken in the historic corridor of Galatasaray High School.
