A Turkish university's job advert seeking studies on the Vikings' life before Christianity has stirred debate, with academics and social media users claiming that it was posted to employ a specific individual.
Hitit University in the northern province of Çorum posted the advert to employ a lecturer with a doctorate for the Medieval History Department in its Faculty of Science and Literature, requiring the said studies.
This is not the first time that the university posted a controversial advert. On Dec. 2, 2019, the university sought to employ a lecturer with a degree on swimming coaching even though it lacks a swimming pool or classes on swimming.
The university could not be reached for comment on employing a Viking specialist.
