Dozens injured in 24-car pileup on western Turkey highway
Some 21 passengers were injured in a massive pile-up on western Turkey's TEM Highway in İzmit. Some 24 cars were involved in the accident including trucks and passenger buses.
Dozens of passengers were injured in a massive pile-up on western Turkey's İzmit province in the early hours of May 31.
Some 21 passengers were injured in the 24-vehicle accident, and all of the wounded passengers were transported to nearby hospitals.
The road was blocked off in the direction going to Istanbul after the pile-up occurred around 4.45 a.m., forming a long queue of vehicles.
The pile-up started when a lorry tipped over after sliding on the concrete because of the rain.
