Erdoğan dismisses several senior bureaucrats, appoints 11 rectors

Turkish President Erdoğan has dismissed many senior bureaucrats, including a deputy minister, and appointed 11 rectors to universities.

Deputy Health Minsiter and many senior bureaucrats in different ministries were dismissed from their posts, according to the decision published in the Official Gazette on July 26 with the signature of President Reecep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Erdoğan also appointed new rectors to 11 universities across the country.

Officials from the Ministry of Health, including the Deputy Minister, the Director General of Health Information Systems, the Director General of Legal Services, the Director General of Management Services, the Chief Inspector, and the Deputy Director General of Health Investments, have been dismissed and replaced with new names.

Çanakkale and Çankırı provincial directors were dismissed from the Family and Social Services Ministry and new directors were appointed in 21 provinces.

Deputy Director General for Cultural Heritage and Museums, Deputy Director General for Promotion and Deputy Director General for Personnel were dismissed from the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

In the Education Ministry, Tokat and Ardahan provincial directors were dismissed and replaced with new figures.

President Erdoğan also appointed new rectors several universities across Turkey. Kent University, Nişantaşı University, and Özyeğin University in Istanbul have all welcomed new administrations.

The president also appointed new rectors to Hacı Bektaş Veli University in Nevşehir, Selçuk University in Konya, Anadolu University in Eskişehir, Bingöl University in Bingöl, Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir.

Mudanya University in Bursa; Ostim Technical University and Hacettepe University in Ankara and have also introduced new rectors.
