Interior Minister Soylu says PKK attack foiled in Turkey's Diyarbakır
Interior Minister Soylu has said that a PKK attack was foiled in Diyarbakır following social media users' panic about explosion sounds in the province.

Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said that an attack by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was foiled in the Kurdish majority southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
According to the minister, PKK militants wanted to attack a military facility in the province late on May 18 with two model planes.

"The planes were inactivated. There are no casualties," Soylu said on Twitter on May 18.
Earlier, social media users shared voice recordings from the area around Diyarbakır 8th Jet Base, which revealed explosions and gunshots.

Another statement was released by the Defense Ministry, which said that necessary physical precautions were taken at the base following the attack.
