Istanbul GP excluded from Formula 1 schedule for 2021 racing season

The Turkish Grand Prix was excluded from the Formula One 2021 season calendar after hosting the race in Istanbul for the first time after nine years in 2020.

The Formula One Grand Prix 2021 Calendar excluded the Turkish race, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) reported on Dec. 17, although the event had returned to Istanbul for the first time in nine years in 2020.

However, sports critics noted that there is one open spot on the calendar on April 25, speculating that it may be filled by either Turkey or Portugal.

The 23-race calendar will start in Australia's Melbourne on March 21 and end in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 5 for the first-ever Saudi Arabian Grand Prix event.

A March 28 race in Bahrain is second on the calendar, followed by Shanghai, Barcelona, Monaco, Baku, Montreal, Le Castellet in France, Spielberg in Austria, Silverstone in the United Kingdom, Budapest, Spa in Belgium, Zandvoort in the Netherlands, Monza in Italy, Sochi in Russia, Singapore, Suzuka in Japan, Austin in the Unites States, Mexico City, Sao Paulo in Brazil, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, and finally, Abu Dhabi.
