Belgian model faces up to 7 years in prison for posing nude in Hagia Sophia
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor is seeking up to seven years in prison on obscenity charges for Belgian model Marisa Papen who posed nude in and near the Hagia Sophia on a 2018 trip to Turkey. The model also faces charges of "insulting symbols of state sovereignty" for posing nude on a Turkish flag.
Belgian model Marisa Papen is facing up to seven years in prison in Turkey on charges of "insulting symbols of state sovereignty," "immodest behavior," and "obscenity."
Known for her nude modeling, Papen also posed nude on a Turkish flag, after which a warrant was issued for her arrest.
The model is known for her nude poses in risqué locations, as she's seen here posing in front of the Vatican, because she and her photographer "enjoy danger."
The photography duo later staged a shoot with one of the traditional rugs in a valley, showing Cappadocia's magical landscape and geological formations.
