The municipality of Istanbul's Bahçelievler district has formed a team after a citizen accidentally threw away his gold coins in the trash, online news portal T24 reported on Jan. 18.
After the citizen became aware that his golden coins were missing at home, he notified the municipality, which determined which of the garbage trucks collected the trash.
Afterwards, the municipality formed a team of eight personnel to look for the five golden coins, worth about 10,000 liras, among the garbage which was on its way to being dumped on a landfill site.
“The municipal team has been working ardently to find those gold coins. The four to five golden coins, which were wrapped in a napkin, are believed to have a value of 10,000 liras. Of course, the team's work is difficult, it is not that easy to find those gold coins tossed into a trash bag. We can say that the municipal taff are putting very much effort into finding that citizen's gold coins,” T24 quoted CNN Türk reporter as saying.
