With the second round of the presidential race taking place on May 28, the opposition’s strategy will be focusing on convincing nationalist voters as well as the youth and women.
Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader and Nation Alliance’s presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on May 15 held a strategy meeting with his executives to plan the road path for the May 28 election.
According to backstage reports, Kılıçdaroğlu will utilize a discourse that emphasizes anti-terror and anti-refugee stance to attract the nationalist fraction’s votes.
Rather than holding big rallies, the CHP will hold meetings with opinion leaders and determine cities where Kılıçdaroğlu had garnered the least votes.
The CHP’s focus will also be the youth some of whom have not gone to the ballot boxes. Accordingly, the party will launch works to formulate more concrete projects for the youth. Women voters will be also the focus of the party.
Meanwhile, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş, both from the CHP, on May 16 shared a photo of themselves having a meeting with Kılıçdaroğlu in the capital Ankara.
“We are starting a tight work for the second round of presidential election that will be held on May 28,” they tweeted.
