The rescue efforts have been still ongoing in the aftermath of two major earthquakes which stroke Turkey’s southeastern region at magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 nine hours apart on Feb. 6.
As of Feb. 9 evening, the death toll from devastating earthquakes has risen to 16,546, at least 66,132 people were injured.
The number of demolished buildings has been yet recorded as 6,444.
103,800 people are on duty in quake-striken provinces to help rescue efforts, Vice President Fuat Oktay said.
Selma Hasar (40) has been rescued from under the rubble in Hatay province 80 hours after the initial quake.
5-year-old Hazal Güner has been rescued 72 hours after the quake in Hatay province.
After being rescued, Güner was asked whether she wants water. "No, I haven't been checked (medically) yet," she replied.
