Snowfall took over Istanbul's deserted streets amid a weekend-long COVID-19 curfew.
Istanbul was buried under snow during the weekend-long curfew that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The curfew began at 9 p.m. Jan. 15 and is set to end at 5 a.m. Jan. 18 local time.
The expected heavy snowfall began on Jan. 16.
In the city, which has been under the influence of rainy weather for the last week, snow and slush are showing their effects.
