Healthcare professionals and senior citizens were given priority in the country's official vaccination schedule, although Health Minister Koca said that they hope to vaccinate everyone over 40 before June.
The Health Ministry has also employed persuasion teams to visit the homes of any citizens who are eligible for the vaccine, but haven't received it yet.
Turkey has so far only vaccinated about 10 percent of the population, the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) said, adding that 70 percent is required to ensure herd immunity.
Meanwhile, the country is still lacking sufficient vaccine supplies, the TTB added, urging the government to pick up the pace of inoculations.
