Aegean İzmir devastated by tornado, hail storm
A tornado and hail storm devastated the Aegean province of İzmir, injuring dozens and causing mass material destruction on Feb. 11.
Heavy rains that started around 9 p.m. caused a tornado in the Ayvalık district, causing hours-long power outages.
Residents also reported seeing massive hail drops, with ice balls the size of eggs.
At least 30 trees were toppled by the strong winds in Çamlık Bay.
Meanwhile, at least 15 boats were reported to have sunk in the region.
