Some congregation members took communion, the Catholic worship of eating consecrated bread and wine, which was allowed as a religious practice despite the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Mediterranean Mersin's Greek Orthodox Church held mass without an audience as part of COVID-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, congregation members wore masks during the mass at the St. Anthony Latin Catholic Church of Mersin, where they were asked upon admission to provide the unique codes given by the Health Ministry as part of nationwide COVID-19 precautions.
