Turkey's only low COVID-19 risk province owes success to 6 practices
Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province remains the only city in the country that ranks as "low risk" on the Health Ministry's weekly map, standing out as the only blue spot. Six practices were traced back as the source of its success.
Duvar English - Turkey's southeastern Şırnak owes its success against the COVID-19 pandemic to six practices, Turkish agencies reported on March 30, a day after the city was left as the only 'low risk' settlement on the Health Ministry's risk map.
The first practice that proved useful in Şırnak was a 15-tent field hospital at the Habur Border Gate on the Iraqi border, where healthcare staff offered outpatient services.
The extension of the regular lockdown period on settlements to 28 days from a mere 14 was reported to be another useful practice in the province.
The province actively used 13 local state dormitories in the fight against COVID-19, namely as isolation and treatment centers.
