Turkish authorities have launched an investigation into a wedding convoy over the images of Taliban flag being unfurled from the vehicles.

Turkish authorities have launched an investigation into a wedding convoy after several people riding in cars were seen waving Taliban flags, daily Sözcü reported on Aug. 1.
The incident occurred in the western province of Aydın's Efeler district. A video showing the wedding convoy was shared on social media, leading to reaction.
The wedding belonged to a religious cult member, daily Sözcü said. Some members of the cult reportedly came to the town for the wedding and participated in the convoy.
After the widespread reaction of the incident, the Aydın Police Department released a statement, saying: “The necessary research and analysis works have been launched with regards to the images that were shared on social media at around 12.30 noon on July 31, 2022. The images belong to a wedding convoy that took place within our province borders.”
