Turkish healthcare workers seek to ensure all BioNTech shots are used
Turkey's healthcare workers are organizing their efforts to make sure that none of the BioNTech vaccinations on their hands go to waste, transferring patients among healthcare centers that have doses left at the end of each day.
Turkey's healthcare workers have been transferring patients among healthcare centers to ensure that none of the BioNTech vaccine supply goes to waste.
The BioNTech vaccination has proven to be a unique challenge for the country's healthcare industry, Dr. Önder Yel noted, due to the specific temperature it needs to be preserved in.
"It really requires meticulous planning at every stage, preservation and administration. This is why it's crucial that patients show up for their appointments," Yel noted, adding that patients who show up after the end of the day are automatically redirected to receive the BioNTech vaccine.
Turkey is currently under a full lockdown to curb the soaring number of COVID-19 cases.
