The incident hapened in Istanbul's Üsküdar district on June 9.
Following the incident, the man said that he did not wish to carry the sofa down the stairs and found flinging it as an easier option.
“I had just bought a new sofa. I looked down [from the window] and saw there was no one there. S, I decided to throw it [the old sofa] down. Just as I threw it, a neighbor came out of the building. It almost hit her,” the man, named Mesut Duran, told Doğan news agency.
Duran seemed very calm while recounting the details of the incident and was even seen smiling at the camera.
“When she suddenly came out [of the building], I was shocked...Thankfully it did not hit her in the head. Someone innocent almost was dying this morning,” he told the reporter.
