Turkish municipality installs smart screen that shows passengers without masks as coronavirus
A new set of smart screens in the Black Sea province of Trabzon display any passengers waiting at the bus stop without masks as the coronavirus itself.
The municipality of the Black Sea province of Trabzon installed smart screens at bus stops to encourage COVID-19 precautions, as the screens will display anyone without a mask as the coronavirus itself.
The goal of the screens is to startle passengers into wearing masks in public places, which is legally mandated by the Turkish Interior Ministry.
"We aimed to raise sensitivity toward precautions in these days when the pandemic has flared back up," Trabzon Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu said.
