A total of 19 members will be assigned to the commission which will hold meetings to identify the cause of the crisis and find solutions to it.
The commission will talk with experts and academics and conduct field analysis. At the end of a three-month-long period, the commission will present a report to the public.
On June 10, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chaired a meeting of an academic committee formed by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for the solution of the "sea snot" crisis in the Marmara Sea.
During the meeting, a scientific evaluation report prepared by the expert academic committee was presented to Erdoğan, who said the relevant public institutions have launched a clean-up operation.
