Turkish public banks to join ATMs, offer services free of charge

Turkey's public Ziraat Bank, Halkbank, Vakıfbank, Ziraat Katılım, Vakıf Katılım, PTTBank, and Emlakbank will join their ATMs, the daily Hürriyet reported on Jan. 4. The move is projected to cut costs by one billion liras for the banks.

Turkish state banks will combine their ATMs to offer services free of charge at more than 15,000 locations nationwide, the daily Hürriyet reported on Jan. 4.

Ziraat Bank, Halkbank, Vakıfbank, Ziraat Katılım, Vakıf Katılım, PTTBank, and Emlakbank expect to save one billion Turkish Liras by combining their ATMs.

"Turkey's ATM Center Project" was designed by a company named Informatics Financial Technologies and Payment Systems Corp., owned jointly by Ziraat Bank, Vakıfbank, and Halkbank.
