Two suspects on all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) ran over 16 baby caretta caretta turtles on Aug. 31.
Many beaches in Antalya province are closed to motorized vehicles as they are hatching sites for the turtle species.
Dozens of baby caretta caretta turtles were also found dead on the beach of a five-star hotel in August after they got stuck under a wooden pathway.
The two suspects reportedly also injured an Austrian tourist named Stefan Feuchtinger who tried to stop them from riding on the beach.
