World-famous motocross rider crosses Bosphorus on modified bike
World-famous motocross rider Robbie Maddison crossed the Bosphorus Strait on a custom setup he created for his motorcycle on Aug. 25.
Anadolu Agency - World-famous freestyle motocross rider Robbie Maddison crossed the surface of the Bosphorus by riding his modified motorbike on Aug. 25.
Also a stunt artist, Maddison took off on his ride from special platforms set up in Istanbul's Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi neighborhoods, and the strait was temporarily closed off to traffic.
Maddison rode at a 70 kilometers per hour and crossed the Bosphorus in about 90 seconds, becoming the first person to cross the body of water on a motorcycle.
The 40-year-old rider crossed the strait back after a brief break.
